4Our premier client in Manhattan is currently looking for a SQL Database Administrator. This is an exciting client and a great place to work. Our client is involved with emerging technologies for print-to-web, cutting edge online advertising, and world renowned content. Located near Times Square in the heart of mid-town Manhattan. They have easy access to the subway, PATH, Grand Central Station, Port Authority, the Ferry, and Penn Station. You will get to work with a great team that is building the platform for the re-launch of great websites.
Responsibilities include administering, maintaining, developing and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databases which run
Several well known sites.
You will implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. You should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of Database Administration. You should rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Your job will require being able to perform a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
The DBA will need to make technical architecture design decisions with particular consideration to security and scalability.
Required experience: 3+ years of experience with SQL Server. (Currently running mainly SQL Server 2005, with some SQL Server 2000, and a few databases on Access and SQL Server 7.)
Pluses: Experience with writing HTML, Javascript, and CSS Coldfusion or Ruby
