BASIC FUNCTION:
As part of M&T's T&BO/Technology Infrastructure the Computer Production Supervisor would be responsible for the timely and accurate resolution of network infrastructure related problems.  This would include both scheduled and unscheduled outages to network related components to minimize production outages to the respective business units of the Bank.  Supervises assigned staff while ensuring network problems are identified and resolved in the most efficient manner possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the implementation of scheduled production activities, maintaining availability of all network related components. The incumbent will be responsible for and ensuring all exceptions are communicated to impacted areas. Develop and implement procedures designed to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of the shift. Assist in the implementation of new applications, hardware processing platforms, and coordinate vendor releases or changes. Ensure the timely resolution of all network infrastructure related problems. Supervise and train assigned Network Control Center analysts. Coordinate network operations activities with user departments and resolve any problems that occur with those departments. Manage and direct the activities of the group to ensure the necessary troubleshooting documentation is in place to minimize a future outage. Manage a number of external vendor relationships to ensure mean time to repair standards are being ahered too.
Participate in the performance of administrative and managerial matters.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or related field, or possess at least 5+ years professional experience in a related environment
3-5 years experience in an operational support position and/or a position requiring a high level of technical customer support
Experience in systems analysis and diagnostic troubleshooting on Novell NetWare and/or Microsoft server platforms required
Experience with network monitoring platforms preferred.
Basic LAN/WAN skills including but not limited to understanding basic concepts of servers, routers and telecommunication topologies, and protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, CDMA and SONET.
Candidate will need to possess strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple priorities
Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to present to a target audience
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership ability with five to seven years supervisory experience preferred.
Bank operations and proven project management experience is a plus
Good understanding of the Bank's application framework
