Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include collaboration with clients in the TV Network and other Media Business Units (primarily Clients in the ABC On Air Planning department), for the purpose of managing all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle. This includes system requirements definition as well as system design, architecture, infrastructure, development and implementation. In addition, responsibilities include working with outside software vendors as well as inhouse staff and consultants; responsibilities include project planning, managing project costs and timetables as well as project resources.
Basic Requirements:
Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS or a related field of study.
Work Experience: 10+ years.
Technical Skills: Strong systems analysis skills; demonstrated experience with system development on various platforms using various different languages and Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
Non-Technical Skills: Must have project and resource management experience; must have prior work experience with application systems related to On Air Promos in a media company; strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to rapidly assess a technical or business situation and recommend solutions or opinions to Management; demonstrated ability to meet project target dates; initiative, willingness and flexibility to perform diverse tasks and manage more than one concurrent project; have the capability to evaluate alternative solutions that include a wide range of options and products, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Data warehousing software, optimization software.
Non-Technical Skills: Extensive project management experience, previous experience with Nielsen ratings systems in the Media environment; knowledge of the Media Sales business processes; ability to work effectively under pressure, with tight deadlines and competing priorities.
