We are currently seeking talented individuals for the Project Manger opening in our Department of Risk Oversight and Operational Regulation in New York, NY.
Major Purpose of Job:
Develop methods to enhance the member firms risk assessment and examination process through technology by automating the review of examination scope modules and procedures using data received from member firms.
Essential Job Functions:
-Identify relevant data to be received from member firms using technology enabled tools.
-Work closely with internal/external committees and technology staff to identify/prioritize targeted elements for automation.
-Work closely with technology in the development of systems to analyze data received from firms and to establish compatible file formats.
-Perform regulatory analysis of data received and work closely with Unit surveillance and examination staff to develop methods for utilizing the data to assist in identifying regulatory risk and planning risk-based examinations.
-Work closely with member firm representatives to provide guidance, answer questions and assist them in developing and submitting requested data.
-Perform verification and testing of all electronically received data and assist technology staff in the development of business rules for submitted files.
-Review and ensure quality and completeness of the automated data application by monitoring effectiveness in field.
-Assist in the management of the department's automation projects and provide regular status reports.
Other responsibilities:
-Participate on examinations and promote the use of information developed by the department on examinations through education and training of examination staff.
-Participate in special projects, as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Computer Science.
-Minimum of six years of Securities, Finance, Brokerage Operations, Internal Audit or Regulatory related experience.
-Working knowledge of varied area of securities firm operations and finance including accounting, regulatory reporting, trade processing, margin, and possession or control requirement.
-Good understanding of client/server architectures.
-Strong knowledge of proprietary technology and applications, databases and windows development tools.
-Strong supervisory and training skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with business and technical staff of member firms.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Excellent computer skills.
