Our client is seeking a SQL DBA to design, implement and manage their SQL Server Database environment. The person will be part of a DBA team.
The person will be working in both OLTP and DSS environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·Performance tune SQL Server databases
·Backup and recovery, general administration, migration of
databases between various versions and other DBA activities
·Support high volume websites and supporting it is a must
·Worked with Microsoft cluster environment and replication
·Conceptualize, design and implement complex solutions
·Support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.
·Handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility in work hours.
Technical Skills
- Clear understanding of SQL Server RDBMS fundamentals and its interaction with OS
-SQL Server Installation & upgrade procedures
-Physical database architecture considerations
-Comprehensive backup & disaster recovery strategy
-Effective Security practices
-Automation & scheduling using SQL Server Agent
-DTS Packages
-Performing tasks under both Enterprise Manager & Query Analyzer
-Server-wide/Database-wide Configurations & Settings
-Monitoring & auditing techniques
- Enterprise-wide Replication Implementation & Deployment
- Knowledge of Oracle and prior experience is highly desirable.
