Our client seeks motivated Web Software Developers to become part of their dynamic Web Services team through the complete software life cycle for web site features and functions, as well as back-end support systems to produce robust bug free software.
The key responsibilities of this position will be to participate in design sessions, write and test code, and systems integration.
The Web Engineering Department provides the foundation for the client's websites. Its responsibilities include building and supporting their web application infrastructures and related databases, providing connectivity to allow various portions of the website to properly function, and providing the marketing department the tools necessary to assist in the sale and promotion of our products.
Additionally, we provide and update the various administrative facilities that allow the customer services department to manage various inquires from both our internal and external customers
Experience: Primary tasks for this position include:
. Programming for our online software projects, including prototyping, building and testing scripts on new projects, as well as defect repair on currently deployed systems;
. Database programming, including SQL queries, schema, table and view creation;
. Unit testing of all code artifacts, documentation of all work artifacts, including code comments, user manuals, and development notes;
. Continuous integration of code into source code control systems.
Professional Requirements:
Our ideal candidates will have either strong procedural and object-oriented programming experience in Java or agile development experience using Ruby on Rails.
. Thorough knowledge of website construction and/or client-server application development is a must.
. Implement projects in Java and Ruby.
. Knowledge of relational databases and competency in intranet/internet technologies is required.
. Proven ability to work with technology vendors in the delivery of project solutions is important.
. Demonstrate that they have a breadth of understanding of technology.
Experience:
One to three years professional programming experience for customer facing websites. Up-to-date knowledge required in the following areas- Java EE and Ruby. Systems administration and integration experience preferred. The individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education:
Bachelor's degree computer science or training and experience in related fields.
