Genesis10 is currently searching for an excellent Business Analyst in New York City for one of our clients, an international investment bank.
This role is for a Business Analyst whose prime focus will be delivering new functionality within the Client Technology group.
The responsibilities of the Business Analyst include:
- Scoping the project and conducting the business analysis/requirements gathering
- Working with the CSR Desk and Business Development Groups in the business to determine priorities, identify solutions, and manage delivery
- Identifying and involving the key stakeholders and resolving the issues raised
- Some project management responsibilities may include developing the project approach and project plan
- Ensuring communication within the project and to external stakeholders.
- Confirming that the requirements have been interpreted correctly prior to UAT testing.
The individual ideally will have worked in a service delivery role e.g. analysis or IT project management within an investment bank, where requirements are not always clear but not withstanding that can apply a structured approach to delivering a solution which meets the clients needs
Experience: 3+ years of:
- Experience working directly with Prime Brokerage technology a big plus
- Experiences with a leading consulting firm within financial services or an International investment bank
- Track record in delivering major projects especially projects delivered in an investment bank or similar institution
- Strong knowledge of securities products and processing
- Has been involved in managing change, experience of dealing with senior management
- Experience in achieving results in a project context using resources that do not report directly to him/her(eg from clients, from other departments, external suppliers)
TECHNICAL
- Development Experience in hands-on IT Development (C++, C#, Java or .NET) would be a benefit
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION
- Project management skills - track record of delivery
- Good Presentation skills
- Extremely strong organizational skills
- Strong relationship skills. Good interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills. Proactive, has drive and energy Solution orientated. Strong communications skills at all levels
- Ability to deal with continuous change
- Must be very analytical with strong product knowledge in Equities. Preferably prime brokerage, securities lending, FI areas
- Ability to understand the detail but also able to take a big picture approach
- Experience in hands-on IT Development (C++, C#, Java or .NET) would be a benefit
