I am conducting a search on behalf of my client a major insurance company located in NYC. This is a fulltime opportunity for at Technical Manager-Enterprise Architecture. The salary range is to $140,000 plus bonus and benefits. Here is the job description; Project Management and LeadershipProvide project management leadership using methodology standards that are aligned with the policies and procedures . Integrates architectural activities with other departments as appropriate to ensure successful implementation and support of Technology Office and business project efforts. Leads and manages enterprise architecture and virtual IT team(s) throughout the project lifecycle.Scope ManagementEnsure project scope is adequately defined and projects are executed to satisfy objectives. Work closely with project sponsors (Business & IT) to ensure requirements are complete, accurate and measurable. Provide technical subject matter expertise for application design, development, testing and deployment. ResponsibilitiesManage ESM service migration to WebSphere 5.1 & Websphere Process Server pilot project (Constant, 35%). Lead architecture team in setting direction and enhancing J2EE and .NET application frameworks (Frequent, 15%). Drive SOA development initiatives to implement a Service Board & Service Repository (Constant, 20%). Promote development of SOA architect and developer skills to aid both TIBCO and EAI technology adoption (Frequent, 5%). Participate in the reshaping of Enterprise Architecture vision, roadmap and delivery (Occasional, 10%). Provide architectural assessment support to critical initiatives (Occasional, 15%).
Experience: Requirements10 years of leadership experience. Ability to communicate equally well with technical and non-technical personnel Must be self-directed and proactive; able to think beyond the immediate problem Translate strategy and objectives into manageable, step-by-step action plans Gives guidance and direction to others, and explains what is required for success Prioritizes project and work product deliverables with moderate supervision Assign project responsibilities to project team members and provides assistance required to ensure successful completion of individual project tasks Motivate staff to achieve project objectives and promote teamwork Ability to define, manage and deliver on project stakeholder expectations· Develop work plans for small and large projects with limited supervisionMonitor task progress and proactively take actions to resolve any issues Gets point across in both written and verbal communications Relevant Technical SkillsHas in-depth knowledge of responsible technical areas. Is familiar with all IT functions and services. Understands enterprise architectural issues and factors them into decisions and recommendations. Proven experience with IBM Websphere, J2EE\Java and RUP. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in TIBCO and .NET implementations. SOA architect and development experience also a plus.
