In a team environment, define and develop the software architecture required to implement features and capabilities for software defined radios. Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements analysis, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration, system level test). Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of the system design within time and cost constraints. Prepare work estimates, schedule inputs and metric data to project management. Consult with other cross-functional engineering staff (electrical, mechanical, systems) to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system. Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming and documentation. Provide technical leadership for the team and act as a mentor for junior developers. Experience: Bachelor of Science in CS/CE/EE discipline along with 9+ years of directly related experience (7+ years with Master's degree) is required. 8+ years of C/C++ programming languages is mandatory. 5+ years experience with the software architecture and design of complex systems. 8+ years experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD) 5+ years experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) 4+ years embedded software development (including compilers, debuggers, etc.) 5+ years experience with multi-threaded design 4+ years experience with real-time operating systems Ability to obtain security clearancePreferred Additional Skills Java CORBA XML Tactical Radio Communications waveforms and equipment Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Software Communications Architecture (SCA) CMMI and standard software development processes Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP. IP v4, IP v6, etc.) Windows NT, XP, 2000 and/or UNIX host environments This position requires an eligibility for a CCI type clearance. Additional clearances may also be required.
