The senior software developer will play a key role in developing new technology initiatives for the wholesale and retail divisions. These new initiatives will include billing, web content and contact management systems, reporting systems, and other mission-critical applications as appropriate. As a top member of the technology team, the senior software developer plays a key role in all aspects of the system development lifecycle. Depending upon the scope of each project, the senior software developer will work directly with the VP of Operations and management. The software developer will communicate closely with the VP of Operations on the progress, requirements for completion and potential project delays. <p>
Duties and Responsibilities <p>
• Develop scalable applications in a dynamic environment, primarily in .Net, and Java with some Visual Basic and Perl<br>
• Optimize, and expand the software code programming of Wholesale and Retail billing systems.<br>
• R&D new telephony technologies<br>
• Design and maintain QoS for VoIP network<br>
• Update/Upgrade MS SQL software for optimal performance<br>
• Research industry trends for the development of new retail system features<br>
• Expand the functionality of the existing retail products.<br>
• Hands on integration of telephony equipment, i.e. gateways, routers, switches, session border controllers<br>
• Hands on project management of the Retail Website.<br>
• Knowledge of SER routing technologies<br>
• Knowledge of Linux OS technologies and features<br>
• Knowledge of Asterisk and SIP related applications<br>
• Assist in monitoring hourly and daily traffic.<br>
• Assist in troubleshooting VoIP network problems.<br>
• Monitor traffic on the weekends every other weekend.<br>
• Develop or modify databases as needed to support application development, and continually providing support for internally developed applications<br>
• Develop technical architecture documentation based upon business requirements<br>
• Enhance and maintain existing application suites<br>
• Coordinating development efforts in an Agile-like, testing-centric environment<br>
• Recommending cost effective technology solutions for business challenges<br>
• Prepares ad hoc and routine financial statements and reports. <p>

• Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping. <br>
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. <br>
• Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems. <p>

Experience: • A four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field.<br>
• At least four years development experience in both front and back-end systems<br>
• At least four years development experience in Visual Basic and other Microsoft-centric languages<br>
• Proven experience in iterative system design, development, and implementation<br>
• Experience working in Linux<br>
• Strong MS SQL, MySQL and general SQL query skills<br>
• Experience working with open source solutions<br>
• Experience with Perl a plus <p>
