UNIVERSAL Technologies is recruiting for a Business Analyst/Technical Writer to join their Albany, NY team. A Quality Assurance plan is in place that delineates reviews for each part of the system development lifecycle. Reviews, findings and actions taken to improve processes need to be documented by the selected technical writer. The documentation produced will create an updated and reliable source of information pertaining to various processes critical to the system development cycle.
Candidates must possess the following mandatory skills and expertise to be considered:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Two years of work-related experience is required writing documentation for IT systems/applications in the following areas: Systems Design, Operations, and Maintenance and Support
- Experience in: organizing, analyzing and understanding verbal and written documentation procedures
Candidates with the following desirable items will be considered first:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Five years experience with electronic publishing tools, preferably in the context of New York State Intranet and Internet sites
- Five years experience developing systems and end user documentation for a large-scale, complex, systems development effort, preferably including some experience with producing documentation for testing or other QA-related processes
- Five years experience with deployment of electronic publishing systems in an open, industry standard environment.
- 2 years experience working with users to document business practices, including developing and presenting documentation to user groups, organizing topics and attendance of key staff at user meetings and conference calls, and coordinating planning and follow up activities to address specific issues and content relevant to the development effort.
- 1 year human services systems experience in the area of Child Support, including web development.
