ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

UNIVERSAL Technologies is recruiting for an Oracle Database Administrator to join their Albany, NY team. The successful candidate will have six to eight years of experience performing Oracle Database Administration, as well as experience with Peoplesoft HRMS on a Solaris platform. OCP with version 9i or higher mandatory.

Candidates must possess the following mandatory skills and expertise to be considered:

  • Minimum of 6 years experience performing Oracle Database Administration. Must include at least 1 year experience in Oracle 10.1 and 10.2.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience performing Oracle Database Administration support for PeopleSoft HRMS and Financials packages on a Solaris Platform.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Solaris system administration.
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP), Database version 9i or higher. (Copy of certification required).

Candidates with the following desirable items will be considered first:

  • Six (6) years experience in Oracle Database performance tuning for PeopleSoft HRMS and Financials applications as well as for in-house developed applications. Experience must include sql statement tuning, using explain plan, hints, sql profiler, cost-based optimizer tuning, as well as PL/SQL code debugging. Experience must include at least four (4) years identifying and analyzing Oracle processes associated with PeopleSoft 8 software (with Oracle versions 9.2, 10.1 and 10.2), including process scheduler, web server and application server.
  • Six (6) years experience writing Unix shell scripts (Solaris environment) to automate database administration and PeopleSoft administration jobs, including scripts for database creation, statistics gathering and security administration. Experience must include scripts to administer components of the PeopleSoft 8 internet architecture.
  • Six (6) years experience tracking, evaluating, downloading and installing Oracle Server Software releases (including security patches and patchsets) on a Solaris and Windows platform. Experience must include fresh installs as well as upgrades, including Oracle 10.2.
  • Sun certification within the last five (5) years as a Systems Administrator. A copy of the certification must be included.
  • Three (3) years experience using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) version 9.2. Experience must include configuring RMAN for online and offline backups, utilizing the RMAN catalog and performing recoveries.
  • Four (4) years experience in installing, managing, upgrading and troubleshooting Oracle Enterprise Manager software and all its components, including the EM management server and repository. Experience must include EM 10 grid control.
  • Two (2) years experience in installing, configuring and trouble-shooting Oracle DataGuard in a Solaris environment for Disaster Recovery purposes.
  • One (1) year experience installing, configuring and administering Oracle Internet Directory in an environment using both tnsnames and OID.
  • Four (4) years experience developing and implementing test plans for Oracle features of new releases. Experience must include documenting thoroughly the scenarios, their outcomes and making recommendations based on test findings. Experience must include working with Oracle versions 9i, 10.1 and 10.2 features.
  • Two (2) years experience in creation and maintenance of Oracle databases on Windows 2k servers. Experience must include setting up automated jobs in a Windows environment to perform database maintenance tasks. (e.g. nightly database exports).
  • Five (5) years experience transferring knowledge to co-workers via desktop demonstrations, oracle presentations and written documentation. Documentation must include installation instructions for the Solaris operating environment.
  • Two (2) years experience using Oracle partitioning and compression.
