This position is for an Engineer with proven software skills in coding, debugging, and programming for applications. Researches, designs and develops computer software systems. Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Proficiency in programming languages to design, maintain, and modify software; create high volume database structures; produce design specifications and formal documentation; a proven team player; action-oriented with the ability to work under minimum supervision and set priorities; good problem solving skills; good written and verbal communication skills; able to follow through on implementation.
Essential Functions:
? Designs, develops, modifies and maintains complex application software ? whether initially built in house or acquired from third party vendors
? Utilizes and leverages third party tools efficiently
? Designs, reviews, and creates artifacts (User Interfaces, XML Schemas, Database Tables, Reports, etc.)
? Writes scripts and other utilities as needed for performance analysis, problem investigation and resolution, and other tasks as needed
? Utilizes Source Code Control Systems
? Tests and confirms all proposed changes before moving them to quality assurance and production
? Troubleshoots and resolves performance bottlenecks as needed
? Recommends and tests hardware/software products for proposed development efforts
? Understands System Development Lifecycles and Best Practices
Qualifications:
A. Education and Training
? BS degree in Computer Science or related program.
B. Technical Requirements
? Knowledge and experience with multi-tier architectures.
? Understand software, hardware, networks, databases, messaging etc.
? Experience with a wide array of commercial enterprise software products and standards including:th
o Programming languages and IDEs (.NET) ? C#, ASP, JavaScript,
o Source Management tools ? Visual SourceSafe (VSS)
o Operating Systems (Windows, Unix)
o Operating System Services and Tools (SQL, IIS,)
o Software Design tools and standards (Visual Studio, OO, UML, XML, XSL, XSLT).
o Experience as a DBA and Citrix solutions is a plus

C. Managerial, Technical or Professional Experience
Entry Level:
? Favorable recommendation
Intermediate Level:
? 3-5 years overall IT experience
? 3-5 years Insurance experience is a plus.
