Provide planning, design, installation and 3rd level support for complex Intel based server systems. Function as a senior solutions analyst, devising the implementations and best practices approach for the team. Plan, design, and install new releases, vendor upgrades, service packs, hotfixes and patches in a 24x7 production environment. Assist with Citrix application deployment and Citrix infrastructure engineering. Take a proactive, leadership role in problem determination and resolution in a cross functional team of technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead teams in design and/or manage complex and critical projects from gathering requirements through implementation. Ensure compliance with HSBC standard methodology with implementations.
- Provide technical guidance on analysis and solutions to technical and business problems. Maintain technical currency.
- Provide development and operational support for Intel server farms. OS support to include Windows all versions, Red Hat Linux, NetWare. Require strong ability in secure Web application delivery standards. Well-versed Citrix architecture background required.
- Manage the server infrastructure within HSBC Group strategic directions, regulatory, audit and information security requirements. Architect the systems for high availability and provide operational support to resolve problems. Ensure adherence to best practices and proven solutions architectures.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced staff. Experience: Minimum of seven years proven and progressive Information Technology experience including a minimum of three to five years experience with Microsoft server and related technologies including: NT server 4.0, Windows/2000 server and advanced server, Windows 2003 Server, TCP/IP protocols, Ethernet, remote access, VPN, Terminal server. Minimum three years enterprise engineering experience, with Citrix, highly available architectures and Web-based application solutions.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, related technical field or equivalent.
- Experience with NARS (North American Retail Securities) infrastructure highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, project management, planning and problem solving skills.
- Ability to apply multiple technologies to solve business problems. Good lateral thinking.
- Ability to work in teams as well as independently as required, with a willingness to take appropriate risks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be available for 24-hour pager support.
