UNIVERSAL Technologies is recruiting for a VB Programmer to join their Albany, NY Team. This individual will assist in leading the development effort in an application re-engineering project. Associate's degree mandatory, two years of experience in working with Object Oriented Analysis/Design/Development, Visual Basic 6.0, COM+ and Oracle 9i or higher.
Candidates must possess the following mandatory skills and expertise to be considered:
- Associate's degree
- Must have a minimum of two years application development experience using N-tiered client/server development.
- Must have a minimum of two years application development experience using Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Development.
- Must have a minimum of two years application development experience performing development work in Visual Basic 6.0.
- Must have a minimum of two years application development experience performing development work in COM+.
- Must have a minimum of two years experience performing development work in Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g or higher.
Candidates with the following desirable items will be considered first:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Five (5) years of experience working with project staff (both program and technical staff) architecting, designing, authoring technical designs for a large complex Client Server environment using an "N-tiered" methodology based on a defined user requirement
- Five (5) years of experience working with project staff (both program and technical staff) developing both the client and the middle tier software for a large complex Client Server environment, (using an "N-tiered" methodology), using Visual Basic 6.0 based on a defined technical design.
- Three (3) years experience working with project technical staff defining and/or developing strategies/processes for the client and middle tier software for a large complex Client Server environment, (using an "N-tiered" methodology), to support load and stress testing. These strategies/processes will assist project staff in certifying the application operates within pre-determined performance expectations.
- Three (3) years experience working within an integrated large complex Client Server application using Visual Basic 6.0 and, in part, interacting with FCP version 4.1 (Foundation for Cooperative Processing) modules. Experience should include the development of modules ("wrappers") called and/or being called supporting this interaction.
- Three (3) years experience working within a SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System) based system as part of the Application Development organization.
