I. Position Summary:
The Project Manager manages key corporate initiatives. In addition, the Project Manager oversees and tracks select strategic projects of other departments. The individual provides direction, coaching, and mentoring to transition their knowledge and expertise to others throughout the Company.
II. Essential Functions:
? Project Management (70%)
o Accurately scopes out the length and difficulty of the project tasks, deliverables, and milestones
o Manages deliverables that are within scope as well as changes for those items that are added or deleted
o Schedules and coordinates the tasks of the highly interdependent deliverables, resources, projects, and initiatives
o Identifies the projects and/or programs critical path
o Values projects for cost savings, reports expenditures, prepares funding allocations, and justifies cost discrepancies from planned to actual costs
o Develops mitigation responses and strategies to address project risks
o Serves as liaison between the cross-divisional team members and management
o Plans and measures the project goals and objectives
o Reports status and addresses project questions with the team and leadership
o Works with various departments and provides, when necessary, assistance in project management to move initiatives forward
o Defines and uses project management techniques when engaged in projects/programs
? Coaches and Mentors Crewmember (20%)
o Offers proficiency and expertise to others within the Company and shares knowledge and insight into other projects/programs
o Motivates others to develop interpersonal and professional skills
o Cultivates mutual respect and support of all parties involved
o Provides a safe, protected environment for others to learn
o Passes along valuable lessons, knowledge, attitudes and recognition
o Advises, encourages, and sizes up not only the business situation, but evaluates skills, attributes, and natural talents and recommends the best fit
? Provides knowledge Management (10%)
o Creates and maintains a repository for corporate-level projects and knowledge management, allowing the Director (and Manager) to regularly communicate relevant information to senior leadership
o Provides up-to-date information on the project dashboard and sharepoint sites to ensure all status reports are current and correct for all stakeholders to review
III. Interactions:
Supervision Received:
? Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications
Supervisory Duties:
? No direct report supervision but is responsible for managing specific projects including project teams and project functions
IV. Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree
? Five (5) to seven (7) years project management experience
? Airline experience preferred but not required
? Project Management Certification preferred but not required
? Regular attendance and punctuality
? Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
V. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
? Strong capabilities with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project
? Knowledge of and ability to apply project management techniques, tools and documents
? Sound decision making ability, analytical reasoning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully complete multiple projects simultaneously
? Financial acumen, net present value analysis, moderate return on investment analysis, and ability to structure a business case (or ability to quickly learn said skills)
? Technology and systems knowledge (cursory knowledge of how Information Technology systems work from a business standpoint)
? Strong teamwork skills
? Self motivated and the ability to work with little supervision
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Excellent presentation skills
