Prestigious Opportunity for Web 2.0 Developers

This is a Web Dev opportunity with one of the premier web development firms and is onsite with their flagship client, one of the world's largest magazine publishers. The job is a front-end web development position for web 2.0 coders. It is especially important that you have experience with CSS, XHTML, DIV layers and JavaScript. This is not a table-based coding environment; it is a web 2.0 relaunch, a rollout for a new face on an existing site.

You, as part the development team, will help develop this site and integrate it into corporate intranets. A technical project manager provides the structure and organization for the department but the company still has very much an open dotcom kind of feel.

    Must have 3+ years:
  • HTML handcoding (at least 5 years)
  • JavaScript (5 years)
  • CSS (2 years)
  • XHTML
    Pluses:
  • ASP, ASP.NET, JSP, PHP
  • Back end website coding and data integration also big plusses
Typical day
Implementation of new functionality, revisions to current functionality and the application of a new look and feel to the website. The look and feel has been established but must now be applied to various page templates on the site.

From our client: "We need someone with the enough XHTML/CSS knowledge not just to create simple web pages but to develop complex designs using current web standards."
