Job Description: Our direct client located in Downtown, NY, has a 6+ month assignment for a "hands-on" Sr. Oracle DBA. Client is seeking a detail-oriented team player. Requirements - Senior level - Minimum 7+ years experience - Oracle 9i on Sun Solaris & Linux. - Managing DataGuard, Job Queues, Redo Logs, Archiving, Log Miner, Rollback Segments, Undo Segments(AUM) - In-depth knowledge in building infrastructure for large databases - Develop procedures for database monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery and automated alerts based on server thresholds and events - In-depth knowledge in different disaster-recovery and warm-backup schemes, procedures, and implementation using RMAN essential - Develop maintenance regimes - Expert in tasks automation - Establish standards and procedures - Tuning & Diagnostics pack (stats pack, tkproff) - Scripting language (ksh, perl) - Basic tools like PL/SQL, Import/Export, SQL Loader...etc. - Create and implement security models - Strong concept in software engineering/development methodology - Support development & production - Be able to instruct Unix admins on optimal hardware and software purchase and configuration for database servers - Server, query, application performance tuning - Logical & physical database design - Experience working & advising developers on best practices and application process design - Familiar with application migration procedures and practices - Must be able to work both independently, and in a team environment of 8 DBAs - Have good communication skill, ability to think clearly and act quickly in pressure situations, ability to multi-task and change focus quickly. - Cross-train other DBAs in Oracle - Potential to be cross-trained and provide support for Sybase and MS SQL Server Preferences - Financial industry experience big plus - College degree in Computer Science or related degree Pluses - Oracle RAC - Experience supporting PeopleSoft Financial application as a DBA, but NOT a PS admin - Oracle 10g - Experience building or maintaining Data Warehouse - Multimaster/snap-shot Replication - PRIOR Experience in programming (*But must have solid DBA experience foremost, ie, performing 100% DBA work in the last five years) (201) 995-0214 x 15 Apply directly at: ?r=gad To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
