A well known financial institution in the New York City area is looking for a Network Security Engineer.
The senior Network Engineer, reporting to the Manager of Network Architecture, is responsible for the deployment and operations of corporate networks. Responsibilities include design, installation, and maintenance of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the corporate LAN/WAN. Responsibilities also includes managing the operational support of all internet and WAN communication circuits, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Load Balancers, VPN devices and Cisco VOIP systems.
This individual will be very hands-on, and will be extremely knowledgeable in a range of technical areas, but with a particularly strong focus on Security as it pertains to Cisco PIX/ASA Firewalls, Access Lists, Intrusion Detection, VPN, and internet design. This individual is CCSE or CCSA Certified.
Job Responsibilities Include:
. Design and implement network security standards and policies for core infrastructure and remote client devices
. Design, test and implement IPSEC / GRE VPN solutions for site-to-site client connectivity and remote user access utilizing Cisco PIX / Cisco IOS technologies
. Design, integrate and secure extranet market data infrastructure with access-lists / Firewall interfaces for such vendors as Bridge, Bloomberg, Future Trade, Lava Trade, Thompson, ILX & Tamale, etc.
. Provide network design, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration management for all company LAN and WAN.
. Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, DMZ zones, VPN's, ACL's, switches and routers.
. Identify new technologies and alternative systems to enhance security, reliability, and customer experience.
. Develop scalable network designs, solutions, policies, and recommendations based upon company specifications and vendor recommendations.
. Identify research, evaluate and recommend network related tools and emerging network technologies.
. Assist in the management of VoIP infrastructure and its associated software including Call Manager and Unity Servers
. Develop complex network design documents and presentations (PowerPoint and Visio)
Experience: Technical Skills:
. 5-7 years experience supporting technology infrastructures, server-based services and directory services within a multi-site WAN environment.
. Solid knowledge of routing protocols with heavy experience using EIGRP, RIP, and BGP required.
. Experience in configuring Cisco Routers, Switches and PIX/ASA Firewalls in an enterprise environment required.
. Experience with VPN technologies including IPSEC with GRE tunneling required.
. Experience configuring core LAN switches, such as Catalyst 6500s, using Layer3 switching required.
. Experience in VoIP, Cisco Call Manager, Unity Voice Mail, and IOS Voice Gateways desirable.
. Experience implementing carrier-based MPLS networks desirable.
. Bachelor's degree in CS or computer-related technical degree/training strongly preferred.
. Experience in configuration, documentation and management of in-building wiring, including Fiber/copper cabling.
. Experience in technology assessment; standards development; documentation and incorporations of technology into production environments.
. Some experience with wireless technologies highly desirable.
. Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks; effective time management skills
. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
. Desire to learn new skills and technology.
. Excellent problem solving skills.
. Experience with supporting users both in person and remotely.
. Flexibility to work some off-hours weekends and be part of an on-call rotation.
. Financial industry experiences a plus.
. Excellent consultative and communications (verbal/written) skills.
. Ability to deal with all levels of management/staff.
