Job DescriptionThe candidate will be a member of a team responsible for implementing and supporting all standard network and security platforms used within the VIDA network. The candidate will be responsible for solid, consistent deployments, to maintain high standards of security, availability, and performance for multiple large-scale public safety voice systems. The candidate will provide networking expertise to the implementation system engineering team, serve as escalation point for network deployment issues and will be responsible for consistently documenting lessons learned.Other responsibilities will include Implementing complex IP-Based radio systems, including pre-sales support and design; Utilizing standard configuration templates to consistently and efficiently deploy real-world networks; Understanding and deploying new Cisco hardware and operating systems; Aggressively resolving problems; Administering Cisco networks; Executing and updating Standard Operating Procedures; Coordinating and facilitating activities with vendors, escalation support teams, and other teams within our client's organization.BEST INDUSTRY – CommunicationsBEST DEPARTMENT – Engineering
Experience: Bachelors Degree is highly preferred, but not required.6+ years of network administration or design experience is required.Experience with TCP/IP and networking principlesExperience in network security and network security auditing toolsExperience with troubleshooting network issuesExperience with Windows operating systemsExperience with the Solaris/UNIX operating systemsPreferred Additional SkillsProfessional certifications (e.g. CCNP, CISSP) are a plus; candidate must be able to complete DoD 8570 TECH II baseline IA certifcation (or higher) within one yearSome programming experienceIn depth knowledge of EIGRP, ACL's, intrusion detection systems and firewall rulesKnowledge of VoIP systemsAbility to remain calm under pressure, to smoothly context switch between issues and prioritize them appropriatelyHas clear & concise ability to communicate issues in a less technical sense to management and businessDemonstrate leadership skills which include customer focus, change management, teamwork, diversity, and integritySelf-motivated team player, able to set priorities and manage to deadlinesExcellent trouble-shooting, communication and customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to proactively resolve problemsCompensationNegotiable
