Designs and constructs web pages/sites including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques. Maintains and provides ongoing design of the website, promos and ad banners, seasonal content specials and custom chat launcher design for partners. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Reports to the creative director. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Mobile Designer -
Need a Mobile designer who will establish, plan, and design the user interface design for mobile products, including HTML/iPhone/Blackberry/Android design. You will work with the product development team to design mobile user experiences for Reuters.com mobile products. The designer will interface with internal and external vendors, product managers, developers, and will be responsible for detailed design documentation and validation. The ideal candidate is a natural leader, who is consultative while multi-taking through stages of concurrent projects.
Requirements:
3+ years developing for mobile products
- In depth knowledge of User Interface Design principles, Human Factors, User-Centered Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability Testing Methodologies, web-industry standards and trends, platform standards, software development process, and prototyping/design.
- Ability to translate audience, technology and product requirements into effective UI design solutions.
- Knowledge of internationalization and accessibility design considerations.
- Innovative, creative problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Experience performing UX within an Agile product development environment a plus
- Ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
- Proven team player.
- Expert using graphic imaging and design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, MS Visio, MS Visual Design Studio, etc.
- Preferred working knowledge of HTML, XHTML and CSS coding.
- Proven track record of mobile application design.
