A large financial company located in lower Manhattan seeks a consultant to work a one year + contract as a Quality Assurance Tester.
In addition to the job description below, candidate must have experience with Actimize.
The candidate will be responsible for writing and executing test scenarios to fully test a vendor application in order to ensure functional requirements are met.
Key Accountabilities:
Analyze requirement documents to identify test requirements
Assist with preparation of QA artifacts including, but not limited to Functional Test Plan, QA Acceptance Plan, defect tracking report
Participate and / or review of documentation and / or test results in all QA test phases such as Requirements validation, Integration and Functional testing
Follow the defined QA processes to ensure all standards are met
Develop the Test Script /Scenario; Execute Test Script/Scenario
Coordinate/Document actual test results and responsible for the end-to-end tracking of all issues found
Communicate status to QA leaders
Provide QA support to Actimize, BU, BSA and development teams during development, testing and implementation.
Participate in release meetings for the project
Address and clarify specifications and requirements for business users
Work with the developers, Vendor consultants and Global business users to successfully test business requirements for compliance functions
Ensure test cases and defects logged to defect tracking system and resolved in a timely manner; Assist in defect investigation and escalation
Participate in implementation planning, data preparation and post implementation validation, coordination of user validation
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
Technical Skills
5+ years of experience in banking/financial industry preferred - Capital Market in particular
3+ years of Actimize application or development experience is an asset
5+ years of SQL experience
5+ years of experience in trade surveillance functions (Control Room, Employee trade monitoring, Trade surveillance) and capital markets products and trade processes preferred
5+ years of experience with QA analysis and software development.
Ability to work with a global business group and requirements
Expertise in managing various stakeholder expectations in delivering project deliverables
Expertise and knowledge in testing approaches, methodologies, controls and overall Quality Assurance discipline
Ability to understand data base models and data mapping.
Experience in working with large projects with multiple data sources and system interfaces
Diverse computer skills / understanding of computerized environment
Experience and familiarity with the software development lifecycle
Experience: While candidates do not have to be US Citizens for this role, there will be 2-3 weeks of travel to canada so an H1 visa must be stamped for travel outside of the US.
