Our client has an immediate need for an Application Developer/Technical Writer for a 4-6 month contract. As an Application Developer/Technical Writer, your responsibilities will include:
• Interviewing the necessary program developers, users and any additional staff to gain a thorough understanding of the software application(s) and its functionality
• Documenting overview of home grown application including descriptions of all components/modules
• Documenting architecture and design of software application
• Documenting any data dictionary describing file structures, databases and access methods
• Creating system/program flow chart showing data flows.
• Documenting application source codes, algorithms, interfaces, and APIs.
• Creating manuals for the end-user and system administrators including descriptions of how the system operates or how to use it and instructions on data entry and screen layout
• Developing a schedule and project plan with the steps necessary to complete the documentation
• Scheduling and conducting update meetings to monitor the progress of the documentation
• Producing documentation in electronic format (MS Word and PDF) and submitting for periodic review maintaining the necessary version controls

Experience: To be considered for this role, the incumbent must have experience and a good understanding of computer program languages, specifically VB, C# and diagramming (UML), and must be able to furnish samples of previous application source code documentation.
