Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, high energy candidate who will be a key member of the QA department focusing on industrializing the testing environment across our application suite.
Job Responsibilities
Define and implement test strategies, test plans and test cases across the application suite
Create and maintain automation scripts based on current manual test scripts
Create and maintain new test scenarios based on business requirements documents
Execute existing automated test scripts and create test summary reports for each run
Collaborate with project managers to provide automating timelines for new functionality
Collaborate with manual testing team to understand and document system functionality and propose opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing error rates of the QA department
Key contributor in creating strategic automation approaches to maximize automating regression coverage
Review key industry trends in QA. Propose and implement QA process improvements
Experience: Education/Experience
. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related degree . 5+ years experience in software system design as a business analyst, software developer, tester and/or application support engineer . 2+ years experience as a software testing engineer using the Mercury test suite
(QuickTest Pro, Winrunner, Loadrunner and/or Quality Center)
Required Skills:
Test Automation . Mercury QuickTest Pro 9.x . Mercury Loadrunner 7.x . VB Scripting
. Dynamic object capturing . SQL scripting
Test analysis . Use-case/test case analysis and creation . Construction of test strategies, test plans and test cases
Infrastructure . Efficient operation in UNIX / Linux / Solaris environments . Efficient operation in Windows / familiar with Mac OS
Project and people management . Ability to collaborate with product managers, developers, application support and help desk to improve product quality and increase productivity . Strong verbal and written communications
. Project planning and estimation . Issue, risk and dependency management
Experience with the following a plus:
. Software development (Java, C++ or other equivalent) . Business analysis - ability to create business requirements, functional documentation, user manuals, how-to guides
