ABCNews.com is seeking a Web News Designer
Applicant will work with developers, news editors and advertisers to create multimedia content photo-news graphics for news.com and news cable tv.
Intimate knowledge of DHTML and actionscript; familiarity with javascript and understanding how templates work: comps translate to code-code translate to comps.
Familiarity with interface design/UI. Work with vendors, create slideshows, interactive maps and charts, photo-news illustrations.
On Air duties include creating full screen phoners, maps, quotes, and charts.
The qualified candidate must be a detail oriented individual with ability to handle tight deadlines, work well under pressure and prioritize multiple
projects.
Responsibilities:
Fluency in Adobe/Macromedia Suites, html, vector graphics, imaging and and eye for typography are essential.
Ability to work with clients and define work process for them. Help them understand process of Mockups, revisions and scheduling for projects.
A clear visual aesthetic, excellent organizational skills, understanding of information design, conceptual and creative thinking.
Strong news judgment on selecting photos and enhancing illustration that applies to stories on news website.
Knowledge in Flash/After Effect action scripting and video integration, and Dreamweaver. Hands on vector graphics, imaging and and eye for typography are essential.
Ability to edit photos, video and audio.
