DescriptionOur client, a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, asset management and credit services, is seeking a QA Data Analyst. Type of position: ContractLocation: New York, NYThis is a technical QA position creating and maintaining automated test suites for applications in the Technology and Data division's Documents group, part of the Enterprise Data Group. The candidate will be required to define the test strategy and automation scope for a set of test cases covering rules engine functionality, and create automated scripts using Perl and/or Shell Scripting. These cases will then be executed cases independently or in collaboration with other QA team members. The role involves working closely with the business analysts and developers to understand the overall business requirements and technical structure within the Documents products. The ideal candidate should be experienced with standard test methodologies, able to quickly acquire business and technical knowledge to come up with robust test cases, and working against aggressive timelines. The successful candidate will recommend and influence changes to developers to further improve software quality. Required skills: QA and General Skills: 5+ years of testing experience Familiarity with testing best practices and the SDLC Experience with creating testing artifacts (test plans, test reporting, etc) Experience working with geographically diverse teams Ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skillsTechnical Skills: Perl Scripting Unix command line Experience working with XML data Ability to write complex SQL queries Experience operating in a Sybase environment Desired skills: Rules engine testing experience Data and data model experience Shell Scripting Backend database testing
