Ruby on Rails Developer
Candidate will work with an Agile team and develop the company's proprietary content management system and flagship websites
Working in a fast paced environment, the Ruby on Rails developer will work closely with other developers, a database administrator, product managers, and editors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to core RoR development, defining requirements, estimations, and code reviews.
We are looking for sharp Ruby on Rails developers who know:
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- BDD/TDD
- RSpec/Cucumber
- Ajax/JS
- Active Record, Active Resource
- SQL Server, Rails SQL Adapater
- Caching with public facing high traffic sites
Responsibilities:
- Coding adhering to test driven and behavioral driven development methodologies
- Documentation – including the code, database, and process
- Communication (including SCRUMs, conference calls, emails, timelines, etc.)
Plusses include experience with:
- Online publishing
- Using New Relic
- Content management systems
Please note: This is an 12 month+ W2 Hourly Contract position
