Description Our client, one of the main European financial services companies, is seeking a Sr QA Analyst. Location: New York , NY Fulltime Position DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: This team provides testing support for the trading systems used for the business line mainly managing equities and derivative products. QA testing is performed for front office and Middle Office trading applications built in-house in NY and Paris, vendor trading platform including Fidessa, in-house Middle Office applications and processing to Back Office applications. The NY QA team works with local and global teams including: QA team Paris IT Process Implementation teams Production support teams Development teams (in Paris or in N.Y) AOP: Architecture of production's operations. Release Management and Change Management Business analysts and projects sponsors Compliance teams Responsibilities: The role is highly demanding and technically-oriented and requires an appropriate balance of technical expertise, business knowledge and soft skills. It requires curiosity towards quick learning and good understanding of application functionality and environment setup with special focus on business workflow knowledge. The position requires to work independently in running QA testing of projects and provide adequate test progress reports to multiple teams. Functional/Technical Testing of Equity Trading application based on Manual and Automated test suite, using in-house tools and Mercury Suite (Quick Test Professional and Quality center). Analytical evaluation of requirements and documentation of test strategy, test plan and test cases. Documentation and execution of test approach and test cases for the verification and validation of requirements and software. Provide testing estimates and meet Client dates. Be responsible for test execution and test status reporting and KPIs. Sound knowledge of trading applications test environments and be able to coordinate efficiently with test market support and in-house teams responsible for test environment management. Clear documentation of reported bugs. Follow-up with development team on reported bugs and incorporate in regression testing. Be responsible for issue tracking and creation and publishing of timely status reporting to the project team members. Experience in following up with change management and release management process. Clear understanding and practical experience of the application of QA process and methodology. Coordination with Business Analysts and Developers in meeting deliverables. Efficient status reporting to QA Manager on a regular basis. Meeting deadlines and finding solutions to meet appropriate test needs. Strong hands-on experience in use of SQL scripts and UNIX, LINUX log validation. Required Skills: Good understanding of creating scripts using Quality Centre SQL, Sybase. UNIX for test support. Experience in handling Client Server application testing. Good understanding of trading system environments and connectivity to test markets. Desired Skills: Good handle on creating automation scripts using Mercury Tools (Quick Test Professional). Performance testing using automated tools. UNIX (solaris)/Linux (shell/Perl script). BUSINESS AND SYSTEMS/APPLICATION KNOWLEDGE Required: A sound knowledge of equity trading workflows and compliance rules. Extensive experience in testing equity trading applications using end-to-end validation requirement, including FO applications with Middle Office processing and Back Office functions as well as regulatory reporting requirements. Experience in testing trading applications and validation through market access protocol. Desired: Equity derivative product knowledge. Program trading workflow knowledge, Fidessa trading platform. PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: Minimum 5 years experience in QA testing in a senior role in the broker dealer environment. EDUCATION: Required: Master's degree in computer science or Finance.
