This is an assignment through December 2006 with the possibility of extension. Custom Reports - Lead RoleBusiness Requirements ActivitiesvGather report requirements from various departments in Sales Operations, Marketing, Finance, Marketing researchvDocument business requirementsvAnalyze business requirements and Identify data elements and functionality to support themvDraft initial design/solutionvProduce a report requirements document or BI Design Document to define possible solutionvProduce Change Request documentvLiaison with other project teams and system owners to help define company wide reporting requirements.vConduct review sessions with business usersvSupport the future direction of the ad-hoc/custom reports and identify areas of functionality that can be delivered to the businessvHelp users identify potential reporting capabilities to manage the businessvPerform quality assurance of the data in reports.Data ArchitecturevIdentify data sources for data warehouse environmentvAnticipate & resolve data integration issues across applications and technical infrastructuresvAssist business analysts and end users across all functional areas in identifying long-term, strategic data needs for the enterprise, defining how the data is related to the business processes and developing a conceptual and functional model of the datavAnalyze data source to highlight data quality issuesvDesign target environment data structuresvDesign source to target data mappingvAssist with design of Data Warehouse data model along with GSS team.vDesign data population processes and support team member in the development of DTS packages. Develop procedures and data management policies that ensure the integrity, consistency and control of the enterprise's data assetsvDesign of the Star Schema database using Dimensional Modeling techniquesvSupport the design of BI model to be implemented in the Cognos cubes. Support the design of hierarchical structures for analytical purposesvSupport the extraction of data from the data warehouse to build the cube. Design and develop all the views that are used to extract the data from the data warehouse to cubes and star schema databasevDesign data archiving strategy and process. Design and support the infrastructure upgrade to deploy the data archiving processProject ActivitiesvProduce status reportsvSupport day to day activities of development teamvEnsure that Tech Spec/documentation is up date and that system deliverable comply with requirements and current documentationvConduct team meetings to review current status and progressvMonitor progress against specific activitiesvSupport the project planning processvConduct training of new resources to the projectvConduct code and QA review sessions with development teamvAnalyze errors and identify cause. Support the data validation activitiesvLiaison with Application Support Team to fix data problems on the source system endNo 3rd Party Vendors.

This person needs to be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Clear and concise written and verbal communication is a must. Work well as a team player in a matrix management organization.
