DESCRIPTION: Our Client, a Wall Street-based Hedge Fund has an immediate need for a Linux Systems Administrator to join the team immediately. Appropriate candidates will have 5+ years experience supporting a mission critical, Red Hat (AS/ES) or Novell Suse Linux based server environment, ideally in financial services (not a must). Some Windows and network required. Sun Solaris experience a plus. Strong communication skills required as this individual will be required to interface with traders and third-party software vendors. Strong scripting skills (Perl, C, K) required. DNS, NFS and LDAP exposure a must. SAN experience (HP, Dell, EMC) a strong plus. Veritas a plus (VxCS, VxVM, VxFS, Volume Replicator) DESIRED SKILLS: *UNIX, Linux Administration/Support experience (RedHat AS/ES, Suse, Debian) *Windows/Network Administration or Support experience. *DNS, NFS, LDAP, and Kerberos exposure *Strong scripting knowledge. *Open Source Application support experience (Custom-compiled Apache, MySQL, Tomcat, JBoss) *SAN/NAS Support exposure *Experience supporting a trading floor or mission critical trading application.
