Our client is a government funded agency whose HQ is located in midtown NYC.SUMMARY:The primary responsibilities of the position are the configuration and maintenance of the various PeopleSoft environments.In addition, as needed, the position is responsible for evaluating, acquiring, modifying, implementing and testing of application development software, transport protocols, data storage and access architecture, workflow, and other technology. The applicant will also be able to coordinate multiple projects by maintaining project plans and therefore, assumes full responsibility for them. When required, the Senior Project Manager will be asked to provide expert technological advice, service and support to XXX System Development in implementing an overall technology strategy as described by the XXX Strategic Technology Plan. RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the complete PeopleSoft system environment for HR/Payroll, Enterprise Portal, EPM, and Financials Install/Configure PeopleSoft Internet Architecture including, Web Server, Application Server, and Batch Server Install People Tools upgrades, application upgrades, patches and fixes, People Books, and tax upgrades Work with PeopleSoft developers and Functional Specialists in configuring the PeopleSoft environments Aide in debugging PeopleSoft errors with developers and, when needed, with the vendor Provide technical support for various xxx Systemso xxx developed web based applicationso Interfaces to PeopleSofto Act as project leaderThis includes but not limited to: maintenance of development environment; review and evaluate new business functionality provided by vendor and presented to business users; maintain production environment on supported release versions as recommended by vendor; provide support for upgrades as recommended by vendor with business users to minimize business cycle impact; provide direct support to business users with goal to reduce manual processes through leverage of product functions, develop and code processes for conversion of legacy systems data, systems interfaces and reporting. Analyze Information Systems Plan to determine potential uses of advanced technologies. Evaluate and analyze computer hardware/software products that have practical accountability in the xxx family by interfacing with vendors, other companies, educational institutions, and manufacturers to facilitate the mission of expert advice and service. Consult with user departments and interface with software consultants, and software and hardware vendors.

Requirements:

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft PSADMIN utility Ability to configure PeopleSoft Change Assistant as well as know how to use it to apply patches and fixes is highly desirable Knowledge of PeopleSoft Upgrade Assistant is desirable Ability to write PeopleSoft DataMover Scripts is desirable Working ability to write SQL, specifically Oracle is highly desirable Experience with PeopleSoft Application Designer in order to promote projects and debug problems is strongly desired. Ability to setup and administer (create customized Portal Pagelets, configure single signon, etc.) the PeoleSoft Enterprise Portal is desired. The Senior Project Manager must maintain up-to-date expert knowledge of industry standards and strategies for each of the following technology categories: Traditional Computing Technology, Customer Service and Information Storage & Retrieval Technology, Applications Development and Architecture Technology, Database Technology, Portal Development and Technology and Telecommunications/Transport Protocols Technology. This position must keep current with developing technologies, standards and trends so as to provide System Development Management with information and guidance in developing strategic direction. Working knowledge of Java, HTML (version 3 and 4), XML, Java Servlets, Java Server Pages, Java Beans, Java Script, TogetherSoft, JBuilder, Visual Basic, and Oracle Database architecture is desirable. Knowledge of HP UNIX, Shell Scripting, and MS Windows 2003 Server highly desirable. Knowledge of Unix kernel tuning is a plus.
