Our Client, a Wall Street-based trading company has an immediate need for a Sr. Oracle Database to join the team in a contract (3 to 6 months) to permanent capacity. Experience: *The ideal candidate must have: 5-10 years as a hands on DBA *Experience in Oracle 8i & 9i Database Administration on a Unix (Solaris/Linux) platform *Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager *Oracle Performance Monitoring and Tuning (Spotlight a plus) *Backup and recovery / both online and off line (RMAN is a plus) *Experiences in: supporting large database environments (Development, QA and Production), working in a high volume highly available OLTP environment *PL/SQL development and tuning *A solid understanding of database internals (memory structures, client architecture, distributed architecture, and locking mechanisms) *Strong technical, oral and written communication skills *Working Knowledge of: Shareplex Replication, Oracle Data Guard Physical and Logical Databases, Sybase, Oracle Internet Directory (OID) implementation
