This is an 18-month contract position in Albany, NY for a Client Server/Programmer. Our client is continuing the redesign of a voucher reimbursement system, developed almost 20 years ago and has outdated software platforms and tools. The new project will examine the existing system, determine what parts are still viable, and develop the requirements upon which to base a new system. The person hired for this project will take direction from our client's IT staff and be expected to work from the requirements, definitions and designs already started by the IT analyst, assist with adding to requirements and designs as needed, code the application using these designs, test and debug the application, and implement the application in the production environment. The programmer will also be expected to fully document the application developed. Mandatory requirements: Associate's degree; a minimum of 2 years development work in Windows NT, Visual Basic and Client Server. Preferred experience: 3 years developing complex systems in an N-tier environment utilizing Oracle PL/SQL; 2 years developing WEB applications using Microsoft .Net Web Development (Web Services, Web Forms, .Net classes); 2 years developing COM (Component Object Module) components in an MTS (Microsoft Transaction Server) environment, COM+; 2 years developing Web applications using HTML and ASP; 1 year with web application security protocols and techniques (LDAP/Netegrity knowledge would be a plus); 1 year developing complex reports in Component One Report designer for VB.Net; 1 year in the design/development of web based applications supporting financial systems, including claiming, voucher processing and settlements; good communication/interpersonal skills.
