Obtain a detailed understanding of the processes of the business units supported by them.
Leverage their knowledge of financial applications and their strong technical skills to support the needs of the business units; develop and enhance business applications.
Participate in estimate and design sessions and formulate efficient design solutions to fulfill customer needs and corporate objectives.
Ensure that the code produced is designed with appropriate modularity, well documented and as reusable as possible.
Use the established best practices and procedures for development of business applications, including use of source code management, code reviews, implementation of operational monitoring features, rigorous testing and change management.
Lead the way in suggesting how programs should be re-factored and streamlined. Experience: Candidate is expected to have over 5 years of business applications development experience where at least 5 years should have been with developing financial applications.
Technical experience would include over 5 years of PowerBuilder and Oracle programming experience.
Candidate is expected to have a good understanding of PowerBuilder Foundation classes, PL/SQL, Oracle triggers, functions, procedures, forms, reports etc.
Experience with PowerBuilder v9 required.
Preference would be given to candidates that have over 2 years of Java programming experience.
