Genesis10 Consulting is seeking an experienced Unix Systems Administrator for a 4 month contract in New York City.
Unix Systems Administrator will help move the New York lab and build a new lab in Houston, Tx.
Responsibilities:
Build and install infrastructure equipment in the Houston DCS lab.
Needed skills:
- To build new systems and configure to operate in a production DC environment, configure and install terminal servers, setup authentication, install Keon, DNS/QIP, work with users to verify functionality and supportability.
Tasks to perform:
- Login to all servers and verify usage and activity
- Coordinate engineering activities to permit moves which provide minimal impact to current projects
- Determine equipment which will no longer be required due to the new lab design in Houston
- Validate vendor/lab team/LOB ownership of lab equipment
- Review technical requirements of existing engineering activities and validate the new lab design
- Create operational hand books and train new support staff at Houston location
- Create and validate new process and procedures to maintain and manage a remotely accessible lab
- Coordinate and track vendor supplied kit.
- Work with Network on new design and creating firewall rules, proxy, etc.
- Configure equipment per specifications from remote engineering teams and vendors.
