Looking for someone to work with a highly energetic TechOps team that provides SL2 support for a number of the firms high profile Web applications. This individual will primarily focus on the migration of the application base to a new DMZ infrastructure. This individual will be required to work with and influence developers, development managers, technology peers, and business contacts in regards to the planning, configuration, execution, and testing of the application in the new environment in addition to the hands-on implementation responsibilities. The individual must be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills. The consultant should be able to work independently and under pressure. This position includes a duty pager rotation. Position Description: Play both a lead or supportive role as required in migration of the Web application base to the new DMZ infrastructureProvide project plan data and milestones for each application migration as well as detailed requirements and implementation documentationHands-on implementation and configuration of application components in new environment Provide technical leadership, advice, and training to application developers, development managers, and other members of the team.Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing standards, solutions, and tools.Maintenance and technical support (including duty pager rotation) of the DMZ environments.
Requirements:
Hands-on Unix (Solaris) / Linux (Redhat) quasi-SA experienceExcellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skill setGood understanding of Web and application server technologies. Working knowledge of iPlanet and Apache Web servers as well as Java Servlets and Java Application Servers such as WebLogic and TomcatInternet technologies including HTTP, SSL principles, firewalls, Web security, Proxy servers, CGI programming (Perl, C++), general TCP/IP networkingAbility to handle multiple concurrent tasksRV / EMS messaging, Sybase, JBoss, shell scripting, Web design a plusMust be able to manage both time and work load without constant supervision
