Software Analyst - Full Time in YONKERS, NY

Perform software management activities for the Project Engineering Department as summarized in the Responsibilities sections.

Provide the necessary support and resource to the Software Engineering Manager and company executives, in their recognition of the importance of the software management, and promote company capabilities to the latest industry standards.

Continue to document and assure compliance with the company’s internal procedures for software management, and contribute to the company’s goal of CMMI Level 2 compliance.

Contribute to the execution of the company’s software management strategic plans, including the implementation, assurance, and execution of software management process improvements.

Main Responsibilities:
Technical review and evaluation of supplier’s software design specifications. Review company and supplier software design, and lifecycle-related documents, for necessary technical requirements, content, and compliance.

Cognizance of all project software deliverable requirements, as well, as scheduling, tracking, and follow-up with customer and suppliers for all software deliverables.

For each project’s software-related submittals to and from company, review, identify, and support configuration management and control of submittals.

Supplemental Responsibilities:
Support and enhance document and software version management, as well, as warranty parts-tracking systems.
Work with software consultant or direct-hire resources for review of supplier documentation for satisfaction of technical, commercial, and management requirements.

Help to satisfy each project’s technical, commercial, and managerial requirements, through specification of Software Requirements Management, Software Project Management, Software Configuration Management, Software Documentation Management, Software Quality Management planning, as necessary.

Provide technical support to other departments, as required.

Experience: B.Sc., or advanced degree, in Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
Some experience or familiarity with the principles of embedded processor implementation is preferred. At least 5 years experience in implementation and maintenance of software.
Some experience or familiarity with commercial/technical contract Supplier Management.
Familiarity with IEEE Software Engineering Standards; 730, 828, 829, 830, 1012, 1016, 1028, 1042, 1044, 1058, 1059, 1062, 1074, 1220, 1233, 1298, 1558, J-STD-016-1995 preferred.
Familiarity with Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Integrated Capability Maturity Model (CMMI) required.
Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Methods preferred.
Experience using Windows 98, 2000, XP, etc., and Server/Workstation (used as workstation systems).
Experience using MS Office. Visual Studio and/or Database systems a plus.
Some experience or familiarity with Network protocols, principles of hard-wire/wireless LAN implementation and/or support
Detail oriented with strong problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff, which possess varying levels of technical expertise.
Must have a strong, independent, service orientation, with the energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment.
Limited Travel may be required as part of position
