Job Responsibilities

The ESPN Digital Media Video Product Development team is responsible for developing the digital products that support ESPN's Online Video Strategy. The client-side Web Developer (aka Technical Producer) is responsible for working with design, engineering, and editorial groups to create the Video products and features on ESPN.com. The Technical Producer is multi-dimensional role with responsibilities that range from hands-on technical development (coding) to project management. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of some of the most successful and highest profile applications on the web.



Responsibilities



  • Lead technical resource for ESPN360.com initiatives

  • Participate in the creation of applications and features using front-end web technologies such as Tea, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (AJAX/JSON), and other client-side web development processes

  • Interface with Analytics, Affiliate Sales and Marketing teams to support needs of ESPN360.com affiliates

  • Support other video products and new initiatives as necessary

  • Serve as bridge between engineering, design, editorial, marketing, sales and affiliate groups.

  • Assist in the technical analysis and evaluation of new technologies, products, and product enhancements as related to ESPN360.com

  • Lead the development of assigned projects and tasks.

  • Create standards to develop and run live events in ESPN360.com
    Experience: Required Qualifications

    ? Bachelor's degree, preferable in Computer Science or a related technology field, or work experience equivalent to formal qualification.

    ? Candidate must have at least 3 years of overall experience with at least two years experience in the following: hands-on web development experience in a professional environment, working with a structured programming language (C/C++, ASP, JSP, PHP, etc) and writing technical specs and driving them through development

    ? Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.

    ? Good understanding of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies and familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash, and DHTML is a very strong plus.

    ? Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

    ? Strong communication skills.

    Passion for sports strongly desired
