Performs 1st and 2nd level problem determination and resolution for supported hardware, software, applications, OS, and Middleware.
Engages and assists the Level 2 & 3 IGS support teams, SDM, and DM as appropriate on problems and changes.
Serves as the on-site 24x7 technical resource for the Level 2 & 3 support teams.
Monitors and reacts to Tivoli alerts and performs problem determination and resolution.
Identifies hardware related failures and performs replacement of hardware system components.
Builds Racks, performs hardware installs, rack cabling, and assists with software builds.
Provides system status measurements for the 300mm customer and support teams.
Contacts IBM-SERV for replacement parts and required service for supported equipment.
Interacts with IGS and IMD support teams to resolve server and application problems.
Stays on problem/change calls and Sametime chats until completion.
Works with the support teams to develop detailed procedures in support of the account.
Provides support for production and test servers located in building 300 (production and test), building 321 (A and A-Prime), building 321 engineering lab, and Poughkeepsie Building 8 300mm data center.
Unix, Wnidows 2000, 2003 server, Linux Redhat, Systems and Operations experience, Loutus Notes, script writing, hardware installation knowledge (intel)
