Our Soho based client, a distributor and creator of visual content is looking for a Software Quality Engineer.
You will be expected to interact with other QA personnel, business analysts and developers in the completion of day to day tasks and assignments of a diverse scope and varied complexity. Using requirements and other technical documentation as a base, assignments focus primarily on the definition, execution and reporting of test cases and activities that validate the client's customer facing and back office applications.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and technical design documents to develop and execute manual and automated test scripts/cases for one or more functional areas.
- Document, and communicate test plans, test reports, defect analysis, and risks. Development of reusable test automation scripts
- Identify, analyze, and document defects, errors, and inconsistencies in program functions, outputs, online screens and content.
- Validate test results and review application error logs to troubleshoot problems.
- Maintain record of test coverage and communicate regularly with QA leads regarding status.
- Provide feedback on current test processes and procedures.
- Apply process improvement strategies and methodologies, Propose improvements to cross-team quality practices, and assist in documenting/implementing new process and procedures.
- Perform reviews and quality audits of requirements, architectural and design specifications.
Qualifications:
- BS in computer science preferred
- 3 - 5 yrs. experience in QA and/or software development field
- 3+ years of development and/or test automation experience
- Knowledge of standard SQA methodologies and practices
- Knowledge of software life cycle, configuration management, and project management concepts
- Experience testing multi-application enterprise systems
- Proficiency in Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Macintosh operating systems
- Practical or working knowledge of Visual Studio 2005 Team Test tools,Silktest. Loadrunner, Vitria, and Microsoft Application Center Test tool a plus
- Intermediate level skills and experience with database navigation, queries, and value modification using SQL and SQL tools such as TOAD, SQL Navigator
- 1 - 3 years of experience with automation, black box, regression, functional, UI, and load testing.
- Experience in one or many coding languages a plus. May include, but not limited to: C, C++, C#, ASP, .Net, Visual Basic
